On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Joanne Debono Grech, aged 57, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with illness.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter Yana Borg Debono Grech, her father Joe Debono Grech, other close family members, and the many friends and colleagues whose lives she touched through her public service.

A devoted mother, dedicated community leader and former Mayor of Birkirkara (2013-2024), she leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and commitment to her locality.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11.30am at St Helen's Basilica in Birkirkara.

May the Lord grant her eternal rest.
